Heavy Duty Feeding Devices:
Our cutting systems can be equipped with powered unwind units or nip rollers with web alignment devices to ensure accurate material feed. Devices with automatic roll changing, lifting and feeding are available for rolls up to 5,000 lbs.
Porous Material Feeding:
When feeding porous materials on our cutting systems, a sealing sheet is needed in order to provide adequate vacuum hold down. In this case, a sealing ,membrane or underlay material can be dispensed simultaneously. This solution may also allow multi-ply cutting of materials.
Rewinding:
Rewinding devices can be supplied to strip and rewind the backing materials from substrates prior to cutting. It is also possible rewind material that has been kiss-cut.
Web Alignment:
Web alignment is generally influenced by stresses in the substrate and thee accuracy of winding of the material on the core. There are several solutions available:
- On the cutting system a laser pointer on the tool head enables the operator to manually define the program origin.
- Program Off Set- a sensor on the machine is used to off-set the cutting program and compensate for any misalignment of the web.
- Automatic Web Guides- the web guiding is achieved by the use of photocells or and ultrasonic edge detector. This will monitor the positional inaccuracy and operates a linear actuator attracted to a pivot frame which in turn supports the roll feed. When the correct position is achieved, the actuator stops.
