ATOM knife cutting system, Flashcut 2510, is the optimal solution for cutting both leather, textiles, fabrics and various thin foams and rubber. For thicker or harder materials we recommend the ATOM Waterjet Cutting Systems that use pure water to cut a wide range fo materials. All of these materials can, of course, be cut by traditional die cutting. However, tooling cost are increased and just-in-time production is greatly decreased.

The Flashcut knife cutting machine 2600 is the machine of choice when quicker-to-market production is important or when sample cuttings are required. Simply stated, quicker-to-market involves many people working to reduce the time it takes to produce a product from it's inception through the manufacturing processes, and delivery to the customer. Now with the ATOM knife cutting system, a process that use to take weeks can be accomplished in as little as two days.
Sample cutters obtain information on the various shapes and number of parts from the computer generated design, they can be called upon to cut the parts for the samples quickly and accurately. This process is much faster and more accurate than hand cutting and less expensive than designing the particular die needed to die cut the sample part. Another plus comes when the part has to be recut or when the design has changed from the original. Corrections can be made on the computer and the sample cutter can then cut any shape and number of parts upon order. This is possible because the Flashcut multi-tool head is designed with new tool concepts. These include a special oscillating knife which is both tangentially and vertically computer controlled, a fast punching tool and a pen for marking or drawing. 
 The large double working area and two level vaccuum system that holds material during the cutting operations, ensures high productivity and versatiltiy. Layplanning of patterns is performed on the Intelli-View work station. The nesting can be operated either manually or automatically, to take into account defects and faults, quality areas and directional constarints of leather. The layplanning stations can also be used for various synthetic goods for scraps and remainder cutting.
